Building Quality and Stable Homes After the Riverside Fire
Wade Creek Commons is a four-building multifamily development located in Clackamas County, Oregon. The project provides 36 affordable units for renters earning at or below 60% of the area median income, offering a mix of 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. Developed in partnership with Home First Development, the project was created to provide quality, stable, and affordable housing for those impacted by the 2020 Riverside Fire.
The buildings were designed to achieve green building standards comparable to Earth Advantage Gold. Residents benefited from services provided by Todos Juntos, a culturally specific organization focused on empowering, educating, and inspiring youth and families to succeed at school and at home.
The homes featured balconies/patios, storage, and in-unit laundry. The community building, which included a property management office and play area, supported resident service delivery and promoted community building and gatherings. Centrally located, residents had convenient access to grocery stores, public transportation, schools, restaurants, retail shops, and parks.
The project was financed with Local Innovation Fast Track (LIFT) funds, as well as construction and permanent debt.
